Debut in FA Trophy ends in defeat for Heath

Broadbridge Heath made history on Saturday when they played there first ever game in the FA Trophy, unfortunately the game ending in a 0-2 defeat to high flying Cray whose only dropped points this Season were against Heath only two weeks ago.

On one of the hottest days of the year both sides had there work cut out and with only 4 minutes gone a corner for Heath by Louis Evans was met by Mario Quiasacca and his header was saved off the line by the Cray defender, the next 30 minutes saw the majority of possession and several blocked shots for Cray with the occasional counter attack from Heath but neither team could find the final ball to break the deadlock.

Then on the half hour mark Cray created their best chance when Clement Asiedu broke forward on the left flank and let fly, his shot was well hit, but Roshan Greensall saved well pushing the ball away for a corner.

The deadlock was broken in the 36th minute by Kyrell Lisbie, Arthur Lee played a long ball out wide for Clement Asiedu to run onto, he passed inside to Lisbie who finished well firing low past Greensall from just inside the penalty area.

Heath had one final chance to equalise before the end of the half when a Jamie Chesworth corner was met by Tad Bromage and his header was well saved by the Cray Keeper.

HT: 0-1

The 2nd half started much as the previous half had finished but on 50 minutes a rare Heath attack saw Frankland drive forward and his cross shot just evaded Quiasacca.
The lead was doubled as the hour mark approached, Michael Ademiluyi crossed from the right and Freddie Parker got to the front post to head home.
On 72 mins a rare mistake by the Cray Skipper allowed Mason Doughty to run through on goal but his lob went wide of the target.

With the clock ticking down and just seconds left Cray's keeper Sam Freeman was shown the red card, being adjudged to have handled just outside the eighteen yard line to deny a goal scoring opportunity.

HEATH: Greensall, Frankland, 3 Chesworth, Scally (Doughty 45), Bromage, Brackpool, Weller (Parmiter 67), Penfold, Quiassaca, Evans, Lindsey (Khallouqi 67) Subs not used: Lemon, Zabadyne, Berry, Matthews
