Next up for the Bears is a Pitching In Isthmian League South East Division One fixture when we welcome Horley Town to The Air Engineering Stadium on Saturday 22nd August.
Despite only being 14 miles between the two clubs this is only the second ever League meeting of the sides. The last was for a Southern Combination League Premier Division match on Saturday 22nd January 2020 when goals from Louis Blake and Jamie Robinson gave Heath a 2-2 home draw with Ryan Brackpool and Keiron Laverley scoring for Horley. The return league match never happened with COVID bringing the season to a premature end.
This is Horley Town’s first ever venture into the Isthmian League following promotion via the playoffs last season with victories over Tadley Caileva (0-3) and Fleet Town (2-4) from the Cherry Red Combined Counties Premier Division.
So far The Clarets have played two league matches, losing their opening home league game on the 15th August 0-4 to Sheppey United and then on Tuesday going down 2-0 at Erith Town with both goals coming in the opening 19 minutes from the penalty spot.
Broadbridge Heath played their first Isthmian league match of the season on Tuesday night when we took a 2-0 half-time lead against South Park (Reigate) with goals from Mason Doughty and Ben Royall but the visitor’s hit back in the second half to level the match at 2-2.
