Broadbridge Heath manager Chris Simmons made four changes to the starting line-up with Neo Wooster and Jay Richardson both starting against their former club and midfield dynamo Louis Evans returning from injury.
Heath started strongly but were given an early advantage when Evans played the ball into the path of Zac Young who had a clear run on goal, Wasps debutant goalkeeper Sam Freeman came running out the penalty area to meet him and clattered into the Heath striker, the match referee ideally positioned went straight to his pocket and produced a red card and the hosts were down to 10 with the resulting free-kick being blocked by the wall.
The visitor’s took full advantage of the extra man and opened the scoring on 11 minutes when Charlie Gibson received the ball wide on the left and played it forward to Evans, who unleashed a right foot curling shot from 20 yards that flew into the back of the net giving the stand-in goalkeeper no chance of stopping.
Heath continued to create some good openings but didn’t add to their tally until the 30th minute when a combination of passes, starting with Wooster and involving Evans and Young ended with the ball being played into the path of Charlie Pitcher who picked his spot scoring with a right foot shot into the bottom right corner, his first goal since returning to the club.
The Bears added a third on 39 minutes and it was Evans involved again when he sent Mason Doughty away down the left flank, the Heath winger carried the ball into the penalty area before unselfishly squaring across the face of goal to Young for a tap-in.
There was still time for a fourth before the break when Pitcher received the ball in the middle of the park and picked out the run of Young wide on the right who advanced towards goals before playing it inside to Doughty who in turn setup Evans for a left foot shot under the goalkeeper to bring the half to an end.
The goals continued to come in the second half and 2 minutes into the restart Elliott Romain played a forward pass to Pitcher who split the defence with a pass that allowed Young through on goal to steer a left foot shot past the advancing keeper for his 20th goal of the season.
Heath continued to dominate the game and the only surprise was they didn’t score any more goals until the 89th minutes when Emmanuel Abudiore broke away down the right, advanced into the penalty area with the ball before squaring it for Ollie Rawlins to score with a tap-in, his first goal since joining the club last month.
