First League defeat of the season for the Bears

Heath welcomed Chichester City to the BodyMould Community Stadium for the second time this season following their Velocity Cup 4-3 penalty shoot-out win just 9-days earlier.

The Bears, still seeking their first league win, started well and on 4mins Louis Evans won the ball off a defender played it inside to Mario Quiassaca who setup Charlie Weller, 22yds from goal and the midfielder struck a right foot shot straight at Kieran Magee who gathered comfortably in front of goal.

Bradley Campbell-Francis twisting and turning defenders then created an opening for Heath on 6mins but his right foot shot from the edge of the box also lacked power and Magee gathered with ease. Campbell-Francis was in action again on 13mins this time putting his effort from a Weller corner high over the crossbar.

A minute later Quiassaca won the ball off Curtis Da Costa wide on the left, ran towards goal before squaring the ball across the penalty are to Jake Lindsey who struck a right foot shot that Magee did well to save.

On the half hour Lindsey received the ball wide on the right and played an inch perfect through ball to Quiasacca who looked up and hit a right foot looping shot over Magee’s head into the goal, a great strike but the eagle eyed Assistant raised his flag to deny the Heath striker a contender for goal of the season.

Despite having the lion’s Share of the chances it was the visitors who took the lead 8mins before the break with the simplest of goals, a corner from the left was played in high towards the far post where Ryan Davidson escaped his marker to head home from a yard out.

That goal seemed to spur on the visitors who went close with a Seok-Jae Lee’s set-piece free-kick just wide of the post and Kaleem Haitham fired straight at Bears keeper Roshan Greensall when well placed.

On the stroke of half time Campbell-Francis was allowed to advance without a challenge but he drilled a shot wide of the mark and it remained 0-1 at the break.

Heath thought they had equalised within a minute of the restart when Lindsey dribbled the ball across a crowded goalmouth to Quiasacca who shot into the roof of the net but once again the Assistant had his flag up for offside.

The visitors made it 2-0 midway through the half when a free kick was awarded wide on the right the ball was floated into the far post to an unmarked Joe Clark who scored one of the easiest headed goals from a yard out that he’s ever likely to get.

With 15mins to go it was 3-0 as Emmett Dunn picked out Josh Clack who crossed from the right to Steve Hutchings and the No9 headed back across goal to Conrad Honore who nodded the ball home to make it 3-0 and it remained that way at the end.

No game this weekend for the Bears because of FA Cup fixtures.

Team: Greensall, Terry (Frankland 71), Chesworth, Weller (Parmiter 71), Bromage, Brackpool, Penfold, Evans, Quiassaca (Doughty 62), Lindsey, Campbell-Francis.
