Another away game on the 25th July, this time the team travelled to Isthmian Central side Moneyfields for a game on their new 3G pitch and our first ever match against the side from Portsmouth.
The hosts goalkeeper was much the busier of the two stoppers in the first period making several low level saves to deny The Bears and when he was finally beaten by Louis Evans shot the ball came off the foot of the post to safety and it remained 0-0 at the break.
The second half was a far more even affair, Stan Williamson was forced to make a good save to deny the hosts but it was The Bears who won the match in the 75th minute when Mason Doughty’s close range shot was blocked by a defender, the ball fell into the path of Matt Hay who coolly placed his shot wide of the keeper into the bottom left corner.
