Broadbridge Heath's fifth pre-season friendly was against Isthmian Premier division side Burgess Hill Town.

An entertaining match, lots of skillful play and buildups but not too many goal-scoring opportunities for either side although a couple of cracking goals, one for each side.

After a goal-less first half Heath took the lead on 48 minutes when Louis Evans advanced down the left flank before cutting inside and playing the ball into the path of Mason Doughty who took a touch with his right foot before unleashing a left foot shot from 25 yards that flew into the net like an exocet missile hardly dropping before it hit the back of the net.

Hillians equalised 15 minutes from time and it was another good strike from distance, this one from Nicky Wheeler hitting a right foot shot that gave Heath goalkeeper Alfie Hadfield little chance of stopping.

The winning goal was scored on 83 minutes when a long ball was played down the right wing allowing Bailey Cotton to chase down before playing the ball across the face of goal which was deflected off the knee of a retreating defender into the net to give The Bears a narrow 2-1 win.
