For our second pre-season friendly The Bears travelled to SCFL Premier Division side Peacehaven & Telscombe for our first match on their new 3G surface, a lovely warm summers evening and a reasonable crowd turned up to watch this one.
Heath took an early lead on 10 minutes when a long Callum Dowdell corner from the right was met by the head of Tad Bromage who steered the ball back across the goal face where it was turned back into the danger area to Junior Francis who headed home from a yard, the striker’s first goal for The Bears.
The hosts struck back 8 minutes later with a well struck right foot shot from just outside the penalty area that flew low into the bottom left corner of the net.
Heath restored the lead midway through the half when a Heath player advanced down the right and hammered a right foot shot that the Peacehaven keeper could only parry away and Francis was on it in a flash to strike a right foot shot into the net.
Both sides continued to create chances but it remained 2-1 at full-time.
Another good run out for both team squads with Heath back on the road again on Saturday 12th July when we travel to Isthmian League Central side South Park.
