Goals Galore at The New Defence stadium

Horley Town under 23s have made a great start to the season’s campaign and came into the match unbeaten after five games, while Heath have been a bit hit and miss, some brilliant football at times but at other times making basic errors which often comes with young sides.

For this trip though Heath manager Chris Ellis was able to add a bit more experience to his line-up and welcomed back Adam Al Meskin whose been missing for a few weeks through injury and first team centre-half Lewis Hyde trying to get some match fitness following an injury picked up in Heath’s first match of the season on 8th August.

Broadbridge Heath got off to a great start on 4 minutes when Keanin Louw intercepted a pass wide on the left and played it forward between two defenders into the path of Micah Frazer who shrugged off a challenge on the edge of the penalty area and struck a low right foot shot past the Horley Town goalkeeper Noah Conlon to score on his debut.

Heath doubled their lead minutes later when Luke York played an in-swinging corner from the left into the middle of the goal, Conlon rose to gather but dropped the ball and Hyde capitalised on the mistake to bundle the ball across the line from close range.

Louw added a third on 15 minutes, Owen Davies played a long ball down the right flank to Nathan Kennedy Tamplin who drove into the penalty area before slipping the ball inside to York who setup Louw to net from closer range.

The hosts pulled a goal back on 20 minutes when Joe Mountain intercepted a Heath forward pass from the back and played it to Alex Low who hit a right foot shot from 18 yards giving Heath goalkeeper Jono Aylett no chance of stopping.

The goals continued to come with Heath adding a fourth before the break when an Al Meskin free kick was played into the Horley Town penalty area, a bout of head tennis followed before York finished it off with a header from close range.

Low reduced the deficit on the hour mark when a flowing Horley Town move down the left flank ended with the ball being played inside to Low who placed a shot wide of Aylett for his second of the match and the striker completed his hat-trick 10 minutes later with a right foot shot from the angle but Heath responded almost immediately with York getting on the end of a Louw cross from the right to convert from close range.

In the closing stages a long ball from Heath’s defence down the right channel saw Louw chase it down before playing it inside to Kennedy-Tamplin to fire home and complete the entertainment for the night with the score at 6-3 to the Bears.

Team: Aylett, Davies, Al Meskin, Bedir, Hyde, Cooksley, York, Kent, Louw, Frazer, Kennedy-Tamplin. Subs: Hillier, Hayes, Cina, Joyce, Dood.
