Broadbridge Heath Under 23s got back to winning ways with a 3-0 win over Lingfield Under 23s at the Air Engineering Stadium on Thursday20th August.
Heath got off to the perfect start when Nat Guest received the ball in the centre of midfield and played a long ball wide left to Harry Kent who advanced into the penalty area before playing the ball across the face of goal to Jamie Collyer, the former Horsham Under 18 player arriving late at the far post for a simple tap-in, his first goal for The Bears on his home debut.
Heath doubled their lead on the half hour mark when a Luke York in-swinging corner from the left was headed away at the far post but only as far as Collyer who had time to control the ball and fire a right foot shot into the back of the net for his second of the match and that’s how it remained at half-time.
Heath added a 3rd goal on 70 minutes when Heath goalkeeper Stan Williamson played a long ball down the right channel which was chased down by Keanin Louw who played the ball in-field to Harry Kent, the skipper took a touch to set it up and drilled a low right foot shot from 25 yards into the bottom left corner for his first goal of the new season and that’s how it remained at the final whistle.
