Margate were many people’s pre-season tip for promotion back to the Isthmian League Premier division but it’s fair to say things have not gone as well as many thought with The Gate currently sitting 8th in the division, 11 points adrift of a playoff place but with 12 games still to play anything is possible.

The two sides met earlier in the season on the 8th November at Hartsdown Park with the hosts winning that match by 3-2 with a somewhat controversial 91st minute winner; did the ball cross the line, the Assistant Referee said it had but video evidence suggested otherwise but the goal was given and the points went to the home-side.
