Broadbridge Heath Butterflies

Today, our Broadbridge Heath Butterflies Pan-Disability Team travelled to the GoCardless Stadium, home of Sussex FA in Lancing, to take part in the exciting Day Centres Football Event.

A squad of 11 enthusiastic players represented the Butterflies across five action-packed matches, enjoying a fantastic morning of football, friendship, and fun. The team showed incredible passion, determination, and teamwork throughout the event, embracing every challenge with huge smiles and endless enthusiasm.

The travelling squad included Adam, Lee, Hayden, George, Matt.S, Roy, Chris.B, Rich.H, James, Harrison and Pramit who all played their part in making the day such a memorable success.

Supporting the team on the day were Butterfly Project team members Russell and Toni, alongside Broadbridge Heath Women & Girls Development Lead Emma, who cheered on the players every step of the way.

From the first whistle to the final game, the Butterflies demonstrated exactly what makes the team so special. There were plenty of goals, great tackles, brilliant saves and moments of outstanding sportsmanship as players gave their all while encouraging teammates and opponents alike. Every match brought new challenges and plenty of excitement, with the team showcasing their growing confidence and ability on the pitch.

The atmosphere throughout the morning was fantastic, with Day Centre teams from across Sussex coming together to celebrate the joy of football in an inclusive and welcoming environment.

Our players relished the opportunity to compete, make new friends and showcase their skills on a brilliant stage. There was lots of laughter, encouragement and celebration throughout the event, making it a truly memorable day for everyone involved.

To cap off a wonderful day, every player received a medal of achievement in recognition of their participation and efforts. Seeing the smiles on their faces as they collected their medals was a fitting reward for a morning filled with energy, excitement and achievement.

Everyone connected with the Butterflies should be incredibly proud of the way the team represented Broadbridge Heath FC.

Their positivity, commitment and love for the game shone through from start to finish and highlighted exactly what the Butterfly Project is all about.

As the Butterflies continue to grow from strength to strength, the team is always on the lookout for new players to join the squad. The Butterfly Project is all about creating opportunities, building confidence, making friendships and celebrating a shared love of football.
