Broadbridge Heath FC - Presentation Evening

Andrew Crisp13 May - 13:12

First Team

Broadbridge Heath Football Club held their 2024/25 Presentation Evening in The Venue, home of Broadbridge Heath FC on Saturday 10th May when players, management, committee, supporters and their partners came together to celebrate the completion of the Club's second season in the Pitching In Isthmian league, South East Division.

The first award of the evening went to Louis Evans for completing 100 appearances, something he actually did away to Ramsgate on the 5th April.

The next award 'Clubman of the Year' went to Andy Waddingham who has decided to hang up his boots after 30 years with the club starting at the age of 6 in the Under 7 team. A video tribute was made to Wadders with his Under 7 manager Mike Balfour, Coach Nik Mulcahy and several of his original team-mates honouring the Heath legend.

Mark Goldson picked up the next reward of the evening. Prior to the season start, many people predicted Heath for relegation back down to the SCFL, due mainly to a lack of an out-and-out goal-scorer. Well Goldie joined the Bears in September and made his first team debut on the 28th against Lancing and went on to score 21 goals in 35 appearances, a fantastic achievement in his first full season at Step 4 football.

The Fourth award of the evening 'The Supporters Player of the Year' was won by Bradley Peters who played in 33 games and scored 4 goals. With Brad out of the country the award was made over a video-conference link to the Heath defender.

The 'Young Player of the Year' award was up next and that went to Matt Hay, in his second season with The Bears, a Dorking Wanderers Academy Player who has put in some really solid midfield performances for 'The Bears' and scored some important goals.

So we were down to the final two awards for the evening, 'the Managers Players Player of The Year' award was won by Sean Terry, already in his fourth season with the club and still only 21, a well deserved and popular award.

The award all player's really want was up next 'The Players Player of the Year' and although several players were in contention the final votes saw Sal Marino break away to win the clubs most prestigious award of the night. Another Dorking Wanderers Academy player, he's been asked to play in half a dozen positions during the course of the season and has excelled at them all, another really popular lad with his team-mates and supporters.

After the awards it was time to relax for the casino night which proved a big hit to those in attendance. Big thank you to Chris for the food, Shelley’s decorations for the furnishings and One4luck Casino!
