At the half-way stage in the league season Chris Ellis’s young Under 23 side remain unbeaten with eight wins and a draw from their nine league matches.
The team have played some very entertaining football this season, well worth the entrance fee to watch the games but there’s still a lot of football to play yet both in the league and hopefully in the County Cup too.
On Thursday the team travelled to St Francis Rangers based in the grounds of Haywards Heath Hospital and came away with a 4-1 victory but it was a close first half with the teams coming in at the break a goal a-piece, Nathan Pickering scoring for the Bears the second game running.
Heath increased their lead early in the second half through Charlie Mark scoring his first of the season and Wiktor Maznica made it 3-1 with his sixth goal in six starts; a late own goal completed the score.
No game currently scheduled for next week although we do have a home County Cup fixture against East Grinstead Town to fit in at some stage and that could well be scheduled for next Thursday.
The next scheduled league fixture is on Thursday 7th December when we welcome Horsham YMCA to the BodyMould Stadium, given the strong team our local rivals fielded against us in the reverse fixture on the 5th October you can guarantee that will be a tough game for the young players.
